Hardly any question is asked so often and answered so rarely: what does a Mayr cure, a fasting week or a check-up at a hotel actually cost? We looked at the public price lists of well-known houses and show you what amounts to expect, what they consist of and where you can save.

At a glance
  • A week with a medical programme at a good house usually costs between €3,000 and €6,000.
  • The price almost always consists of room plus programme, with extras on top.
  • You save most with a double room, the off-season and a shorter programme.

What makes up the price

At almost every house the price has two parts: the room with meals, and the programme with medical care and treatments. Some houses charge them separately, others offer ready-made packages.

Extras often come on top: additional treatments or tests, laboratory values, supplements, the local spa tax and a single-room supplement. Ask beforehand exactly what the package includes.

Mayr cure and therapeutic fasting

A Mayr cure usually lasts at least a week. At MAYRLIFE in Altaussee, for example, the Classic programme starts at €2,950 per week according to its 2026 price list, with the room on top from €305 per person per night in a double room. At Park Igls, Mayr packages over seven nights were around €4,100 according to a cure portal (as of February 2025).

For Buchinger fasting the minimum stay is longer. At Buchinger Wilhelmi on Lake Constance, the shortest arrangement of ten nights started at just over €4,000 in a single room according to its 2025 offer, including fasting meals, medical care and laboratory tests.

A good price is one where you know exactly what is included before you book.

Chenot, check-up and longevity

The Chenot Method is among the most expensive programmes. At Chenot Palace Weggis the Advanced Detox programme over seven nights costs CHF 5,500 according to its website, with the room from CHF 410 per night on top. For one week you quickly reach more than CHF 8,000.

A comprehensive check-up with an overnight stay costs a few thousand euros depending on its scope. At Park Igls, for example, the Super Medical Check starts at around €3,900. Short longevity programmes over two to four nights are the more affordable way in.

Ayurveda and thermal cure

A real Ayurveda cure with Pancha Karma costs less than many think. At Kurhaus Schärding in Upper Austria, for example, ten nights with full board, medical guidance and 14 treatments start at around €3,550. Simpler Ayurveda weeks in Germany are available from around €1,000 to €2,000.

Usually the most affordable is a thermal cure without a strict programme: you pay for the hotel and individual treatments. That makes it a good way to get to know health holidays without spending several thousand euros straight away.

Where you can save

These points make the biggest difference to the price:

  • The double room: as two, you pay much less per person
  • The off-season: November and spring are often cheaper than around New Year
  • A shorter programme to get to know the house instead of three weeks straight away
  • Packages instead of individually booked treatments
  • Compare prices across dates: at Luxly you see them live
