A Mayr cure is not a cheap holiday, but its prices are no secret either. Here you find out what to expect, what the price is made of and what to look out for when comparing.

At a glance
  • A week of Mayr cure in a good house usually costs between €3,000 and €5,000 per person.
  • The price is made up of the room, the cure programme with the doctor, and the cure cuisine.
  • Always compare what the package includes, not just the price per night.

What to expect

A Mayr cure usually lasts at least seven nights; many doctors recommend ten to fourteen. For a week in a good house in Germany, Austria or Switzerland you will usually pay between €3,000 and €5,000 per person, more in luxury houses.

Two examples: at MAYRLIFE in Altaussee, the Classic programme starts at €2,950 per week according to its 2026 price list, plus the room from €305 per person per night in a double, so a little over €5,000 for a week. At Park Igls, Mayr packages over seven nights were around €4,100 according to a cure portal (as of February 2025).

What the price includes

Most houses charge in two parts: the room per night and the cure programme per week. Some offer everything as a package. What matters is exactly what is included.

  • Medical examination at the start and the end
  • Regular doctor's consultations and abdominal treatments
  • The cure cuisine, meaning all meals according to Mayr
  • Treatments such as liver compresses, massages or baths
  • Spa, exercise programme and talks
The cheapest price per night is rarely the cheapest cure.

What often comes on top

Lab tests, infusions, extra massages or special diagnostics are often charged separately. Add the local tourist tax and travel. Ask for a complete price list before booking, so there are no surprises at the end.

Does health insurance pay anything?

A Mayr cure in a hotel is usually a private expense. Some supplementary insurances contribute to prevention, and individual medical services may be reimbursed depending on your cover. Best to ask your insurer beforehand.

Frequently asked questions

How long should a Mayr cure last?

At least a week. Many Mayr doctors recommend ten to fourteen days, because the body only adjusts after a few days.

Is a Mayr cure more expensive in a single room?

Usually, yes. Prices are often per person in a double room. Many houses add a supplement for a single room.

Can I deduct a Mayr cure from my taxes?

Only in exceptional cases, for example if a doctor prescribed it beforehand. As pure prevention or relaxation, usually not. If in doubt, ask a tax adviser.

Luxly does not provide medical advice. Whether a programme suits you is something to discuss with the house's medical team or your own doctor.
